Transportation Planning

Within the scope of Transportation Planning studies, medium and long term solutions are developed by handling the transportation problems experienced or anticipated in cities on a meso and macro scale.

In this context, studies such as:

  • Transportation master plans
  • Public transportation planning
  • Parking lot planning
  • Traffic demand management are being carried out.
TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN

In the transportation master plan studies that we have prepared or updated for cities with a population of more than 100,000, the following items are fulfilled, respectively:

  • Collection of available information
  • Collection of new data
  • Analysis of data and preparation of model inputs
  • Establishment and calibration of transportation demand forecasting model
  • Target year inputs forecast (target year projections)
  • Creating alternatives and testing them in the model
  • Preparation of Transportation Master Plan report
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PLANNING

With public transport planning studies, current situation is analyzed and future plans are designed for the integration of public transportation and private transportation.  In these studies, it is aimed

  • To provide high quality transportation services that is economically optimized, including private and public transportation,
  • To provide comfort for every citizen in social terms by maximizing transportation, access and security
  • To ensure environmental sustainability by using resources correctly,
  • To provide solutions to transportation and traffic problems by giving priority to public transport systems and environmentally friendly modes of transport,
  • To integrate public transport types, arrange the station and terminal areas and to develop various transportation methods, including private transport, and transfer possibilities,
PARKING LOT PLANNING

In the infrastructure of basic transportation systems, long or short-term parking areas in accordance with the traffic flow for motorized or non-motorized transportation vehicles are of great importance. In this regard, the following works are carried out within the scope of parking lot management and planning studies:

  • Identifying the park demand and strategies that will provide sufficient parking space according to the environment and urban texture and support the growth principles of the city
  • Identifying parking lots that will meet the demand in line with the pre-set strategies and designing
  • Directing the daily operation process of the city's on-road and off-road parking facilities in accordance with the smart urban development concept
  • Evaluating pricing models that support the comprehensive parking lot strategy.
TRAFFIC DEMAND MANAGEMENT

Through traffic demand management studies, various strategies are developed to make the most of the existing transportation infrastructure, to distribute travel demand among transportation types and to manage travel demand. In this context, the following studies are carried out:

Congestion Charges
  • Feasibility Study
  • Alternative Transportation Opportunities
  • Fare Tariff
  • Cost Analysis
  • Application Plan
  • Impact Analysis
Flexible Working Hours
  • Provincial
  • Sector-based
  • Corridor-based
High Occupancy Vehicle Lane Applications
  • The road service level is above the specified value
  • There is no fare application on the potential road for HOVLA application
  • Not being on the public transport route
  • Ensuring uninterrupted flow
  • The suitability of the road geometry
  • Analyzing time savings before and after HOVLA implementation
